Soup & Safety - M's Vegetable Weight Loss Soup

Soup & Safety

This is my first Recipe, this is also an introduction to some kitchen elements and how to be safe.

Always wash your hands with soap and water & dry them on a clean towel (or air dry) before you start cooking/preparing food!

Also always wash your vegetables off under water before slicin' n dicin'.

Kitchen utensil tips: When you buy a knife or knife set, be sure to buy them where the blade runs all the way back into the handle. see how the steel or w/e it is runs from the blade into the handle of the knife. I'm not sure what that's called but here are a couple pics. Because then you have more control and they are less likely to break and hurt you.

Remember

Cooking is an art form.

Alright on with the Recipe!

M's Vegetable Weight loss Soup

Tools:

hand mixer (look at picture below)
knifes
cutting board
pot (lol not that kind)
spoon/ladle
if using non stick: bowl (big enough for all of the soup)

Ingredients:

  • Can of tomato soup (tomato paste works also)
  • Bullion cubes (chicken or beef. your choice. both taste good)
  • Celery - a couple stalks
  • Onion - abt half a cup
  • Carrots - about a cup worth (baby carrots work well and no cutting involved)
  • Squash - 1 whole squash
  • Noodles or potatoes - half a bag/box of noodles (unless u want it uber noodly) or 3-4 normal sized potatoes. abt 2 cups.
  • And water ofc - about 2-3 cups. Just depends on how big of a batch you make/pot size.
This is about 4-5 servings worth depending on how hungry you are lol

and I say "weight loss" because this is sorta meant for when your in the mood for a snack in between meals, you can just microwave a bowl of this soup to satisfy your hunger and its healthy. Or if you want you can substitute it for your meals. This will help you to curb your cravings. It is actually good to eat often during the day to keep your blood sugar levels in a good spot, we just need to provide the right kinds of snacks for ourselves.

Lets get this show, or should I say soup, on the road! *pido splatter soup all over the road* that's not what I meant -.-

Step 1:

I'm guessing your using an average sized pot. Something tall that can hold a decent amount of liquid.  fill it up with water about half way. add your can of tomato soup and 2 bullion cubes.

Step 2:

Chop up your celery, onions and carrots (baby carrots can just be thrown in the pot. ) don't worry about big pieces just make them smaller than like 2 inches lol

Step 3:

Let all that boil and marry together until the carrots are squishy enough.

Step 4:
Alright turn off the stove. set your pot on a hot pad or if you are using a non stick fancy pot for this, transfer it into a bowl.  Plug in your hand mixer, and when I say hand mixer I mean one of these (lmao this is exactly what we have)

Step 5:

Ok were using the blade attachment (the 1 that is attached in the picture) grind up everything carefully until it is all liquefied. Careful splashes may occur so use your pot lid as a shield.

Step 6:

Now its time to add your noodle or potatoes (or both) to the mixture and put it back on the stove. Potatoes should be cut into bite size chunks. Medium heat, not boiling but not too low either.

Step 7:

While those are cooking cut up your squash. i liked yellow squash but w/e you like. its up to you! and add that to the mixture.

Step 8: Set a timer for about 15-20 mins. Put the lid on most of the way but let some steam escape.

Step 9: Let cool down. Serve and enjoy!

and just remember:
